Position Overview:

The Deputy Chief Nursing Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Nursing Officer by offering strategic oversight, direction, and leadership across designated departments. This position is responsible for the direct management of the Education department, Nursing Support, Virtual Nursing, and Nursing Informatics, ensuring the successful execution of educational programs, special projects, and innovative initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administers, evaluates, and enhances the quality of patient care delivered across the organization.

2. Provides insightful recommendations to hospital management regarding patient care, fiscal forecasts, and quality enhancement strategies.

3. Anticipates and assesses the future needs of the nursing department to elevate the standard of patient care.

4. Facilitates leadership and managerial support to align with strategic objectives while ensuring exceptional patient care delivery.

Essential Qualifications:

Experience:

- A minimum of ten years of direct patient care experience as a Registered Nurse within a healthcare environment is essential.

- At least seven years of managerial experience is required.

Licensure/Certification:

- A valid nursing license from the Texas Board of Nursing is mandatory.

- Current CPR certification is preferred.

- National Certification as a Nurse Leader, Nurse Executive, or in Nursing Professional Development is highly desirable.

Educational Background:

- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.

- A Master's degree, preferably in Nursing Administration or Business Administration, is essential.
