Job Title: Production Manager

Job Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the manufacturing process to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. This role involves managing production staff, maintaining equipment, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily production activities to ensure products are manufactured on time, within budget, and to quality specifications.
  • Lead, train, and motivate production staff, including setting performance goals and conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and operational goals.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Manage production budgets, control costs, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Prepare and analyze production reports, including performance metrics, and provide insights to senior management.
  • Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with the Purchasing team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of meaningful, related experience within a manufacturing environment coupled with an understanding of business practices.
  • ERP systems (SAP) proficiency.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
Working Conditions:

The Production Manager will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.

The employee is required to stand, walk, and talk or hear regularly, and sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms frequently. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

The employee must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and ability to interpret and execute order requirements for receipt and shipment of finished goods, raw materials, and supplies.

The employee must be able to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Proficient in the English language and ability to communicate in Spanish or German language is a plus.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $145,000 plus participation in LAPP's bonus plan. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Vision, Dental, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, 401(k), HSA/FSA, Life Insurance, and more.
