Your Role:

As a Patient Care Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in improving health outcomes by assisting patients in navigating their healthcare journey. Your expertise and commitment will help ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care.

In this fast-paced environment, your ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently will be vital. You will engage with patients and their families, demonstrating exceptional communication skills to build strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the registration process by collecting patient demographics and health information, while verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Utilize electronic systems to accurately enter and verify patient data in real-time.
  • Gather necessary clinical information and process referrals, pre-certifications, and authorizations in accordance with insurance requirements.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, providing patients with clear financial estimates.
  • Collect patient co-pays and discuss financial obligations with empathy and clarity.
  • Identify and address outstanding balances from previous visits, striving to collect any amounts due.
  • Respond compassionately to inquiries from patients and caregivers regarding sensitive topics.
  • Maintain current knowledge of registration requirements across various departments.
Qualifications:

Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in customer service within a healthcare or office setting.

Preferred:
- Experience in a Patient Registration Department or similar medical environment.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes.

Skills:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to perform basic financial calculations.

Work Environment:

This role requires standing for extended periods while utilizing a mobile workstation.
