Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR). As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing quality nursing care to adult residents within the scope of your licensure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to residents, utilizing your knowledge base and experience to ensure their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, using the least restrictive measures necessary to support resident autonomy.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote resident recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical staff, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Document resident progress and provide regular updates to the treatment team.
Requirements
  • Licensed (or license eligible) as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Virginia.
  • Knowledge of practical nursing, administering medication, psychiatric disorders, and resident social needs.
  • Ability to implement planned nursing care and provide guidance to other staff as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a psychiatric and/or correctional setting.
