Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Piedmont Geriatric Hospital. As a Geriatric Care Specialist, you will provide direct patient care and general supervision to geropsychiatric patients, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout their stay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and medication administration
  • Supervise patients during activities and outings, ensuring their safety and engagement
  • Assist professional staff in providing therapeutic activities and promoting a positive treatment environment
  • Transport patients to medical appointments, psychosocial activities, and outings, using a valid driver's license
Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Licensure as a Certified Nurse Assistant by the Virginia Department of Health Professions
  • Experience as a Nursing Assistant, with a minimum of 40 hours of clinical experience
  • Basic computer knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare experience, particularly in long-term care and nursing homes
  • Previous psychiatric experience and knowledge of nursing scope of practice
  • Bilingual Spanish and English
