Executive Director of Performing Arts and Cultural Development

As the chief administrator of our performing arts program, you will be responsible for leading the strategic development and management of our comprehensive arts initiatives, encompassing music, drama, dance, and interdisciplinary arts. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and implementing curriculum, coordinating performances, and overseeing extracurricular activities that nurture creativity and artistic expression among our students.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in performing arts education, with a proven track record of leadership and management experience. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with parents, alumni, community organizations, and local arts entities to enhance our performing arts program and promote its value and impact in education.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will work closely with our faculty, staff, and students to create engaging, high-quality events that showcase the talents of our students and promote our school's mission and values.

We offer a competitive salary of $97,600.00 - $139,300.00 per annum, commensurate with your experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategic Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive performing arts program that aligns with our school's mission and values.
  • Lead a team of faculty and staff to create engaging, high-quality events that showcase the talents of our students.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, alumni, community organizations, and local arts entities to promote our performing arts program.
  • Collaborate with our leadership team to integrate our performing arts program with our broader school initiatives.

Program Management:

  • Design and implement curriculum that nurtures creativity and artistic expression among our students.
  • Coordinate performances and oversee extracurricular activities that promote our performing arts program.
  • Manage the budget and resources for our performing arts program, ensuring efficient allocation and optimal use of equipment and supplies.

Communication and Community Engagement:

  • Develop and implement a communication strategy to promote our performing arts program and its value in education.
  • Collaborate with our marketing team to create promotional materials and social media content that showcases our performing arts program.
  • Engage with our community through events, performances, and outreach activities that promote our school's mission and values.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts, Arts Education, Music Education, Theater, Dance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in performing arts education, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of management, supervisor, or lead experience.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with students, parents, faculty, and community members.
  • Proficient in all aspects of performing arts production, including artistic, technical, and administrative components.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Performing Arts, Arts Education, Music Education, Theater, Dance, or related field.
  • Experience in senior creative leadership roles, particularly within educational or cultural organizations.
  • Experience working in a K-12 educational environment, particularly in a leadership capacity.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is conducted in classrooms, theaters, and performance venues/settings.
  • Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours, but evening and weekend hours are often required for performances, special events, and community engagements, requiring flexibility to meet goals and objectives.
