Position Overview:


Responsible for managing store operations in the absence of upper management, including overseeing all necessary system startups, cash handling procedures, and ensuring that both the sales floor and stockroom are adequately prepared for daily operations.

Accountable for facilitating deliveries by opening the back entrance of the store.

Handles product returns, processes order voids, issues customer refunds, performs cash drops to the safe, and provides change as needed for cash registers.

Exemplifies and delivers an exceptional customer service experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement Actively interacts with customers and clients by welcoming them and providing assistance with products and services. Addresses customer concerns and inquiries to guarantee a satisfactory customer experience.

Demonstrates and shares best practices in customer service with all team members to ensure a unique and pleasant customer experience, including interpersonal skills (e.g., greeting, maintaining eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and service traits (e.g., proactively offering help, identifying needs, ensuring satisfaction, etc.).

Operational Duties Holds store keys to open and close the store independently as required.

Assists and mentors fellow team members in managing the warehouse and vendor ordering processes as orders are created, reviewed, and received, including opening the back door for vendor deliveries.

Responsible for accurately registering all sales on the assigned cash register, including tracking scanning errors, price verifications, items not in the system, price adjustments, and voids.

Supports the manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on release day and assists in reverse logistics (e.g., returns, empty packages).

Collaborates with the manager or assistant store manager in assessing and developing product displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale items. Completes resets and revisions.

Maintains precise inventory counts; ensures the accuracy of on-hand quantities across various departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.

Assists in enforcing the Outdate program with team members.

Responsible for basic department pricing and implementing daily price changes; ensures proper signage is displayed in the store to support accurate product pricing.

Ensures compliance with any additional pricing tasks related to local regulations and/or compliance programs are executed accurately and within the required timeframe.

Assists with bookkeeping tasks, including cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments as necessary or as requested.

Contributes to the maintenance of both the exterior and interior of the store by ensuring a clean, organized, and orderly store appearance, including requesting repairs as needed in the absence of management.

Assists in the separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked) and product placement according to established policies and procedures (e.g., placing raw and frozen meats on lower shelves).

For consumable items, assists in stock rotation, utilizing the first in, first out method and restocking as necessary.
Supports the execution of the Pickup program.
Possesses a working knowledge of store systems and equipment.

Assists at the Pharmacy out window as permitted by state regulations without requiring licensure, certification, or registration, or having met the necessary requirements for such.

Ensures adherence to state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
Responsible for conducting bag checks of team members before they exit the store.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with colleagues.
Completes special assignments and additional tasks as assigned.
Training & Development Participates in training sessions and completes performance planning logs as requested by management.

Communication Acts as a liaison between management and non-management team members by conveying assigned tasks to team members when store management is unavailable.

Reports any disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Minimum of six months of prior work experience with the company, with a performance evaluation on file.
Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in specific regions)
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Performance rating of "Achieving expectations" or higher on the last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the past year.
