Job Summary

The Regional Account Manager coordinates business needs for a field sales team in the defined region for the Siding & Trim Division of Westlake Royal Building Products. This position ensures safety for the team, directs and oversees the execution of sales activities to drive short and long-term growth and relationships in a given geography. The Regional Manager employs strategies for their region that support broader initiatives by effectively aligning resources, managing personnel, and coordinating initiatives across the region. This role covers the South East Region (FL, GA, AL, TN, MS) and involves products such as Royal and Exterior Portfolio Vinyl Siding & Soffit, PVC Trim & Mouldings, Mid-America Shutters Mounts & Vents, Atlantic Shutters, Builders Edge, TruExterior Siding & Trim, Versetta Stone, Cedar Renditions, Zuri Decking, and Foundry Shake.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the performance of the sales team.
  • Works with a focused group of distributors and downstream customers to meet and exceed metrics for safety, revenue, profitability, and key sales activities.
  • Leads, manages, and develops Territory Sales Managers and Market Development Managers in the assigned region.
  • Determines regional and individual territory sales strategies to increase market share.
  • Analyzes and determines multiple products and distribution channel strategies simultaneously.
  • Responsible for territory and divisional sales forecasting.
  • Understands and values the workings of the market and its various channels.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with all existing customers and key accounts.
  • Works with product management to identify and qualify new product opportunities.
  • Collaborates with marketing to understand and execute unique needs of all channels and end users.
  • Travels with Territory Sales Managers quarterly when possible.
  • Ensures the entire team operates within expense budget parameters.
  • Makes presentations, demonstrates products, and represents the company at distribution meetings, downstream customer meetings, and trade shows.
  • Prepares proposals, contracts, sales reports, and business reviews throughout the year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a functional sales role, previous management experience a plus.
  • Ability to form and develop high-performance teams.
  • Strong organization, communication, and computer skills (MS Office suite, specifically Excel).
  • Proven strategic, analytical, and critical thinking.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Effective and persuasive speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with high-level executives as well as support personnel.
  • Demonstrated record of success in sales through achievements and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fosters strong relationships with individuals and teams alike and ensures that all reach their full potential while influencing and achieving organizational goals.
  • Shares knowledge and experience to help the team make key business decisions.
  • Gives the team reason to trust them as a leader with strong ability to inspire, influence, and motivate.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This role requires 70% travel on average. Ability to be away from home for multiple nights per week and riding in automobiles for several hours per day is required. Insurability and a valid US state driver's license are mandatory.
