About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality pastry dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Pastry Sous Chef in preparing food and ensuring a fresh and positive environment.
  • Control the function of your section and contribute to the overall Food and Beverage Department profit.
  • Ensure all menus and food produced meet the standards set by management.
  • Participate in on-the-job training sessions with all staff.
  • Responsible for daily preparation of all food requirements and daily specials.
  • Communicate with chefs to order proper quantities for the following shifts.
  • Ensure service is fast, fun, friendly, fresh, and focused.
  • Ensure that the above applies in accordance with established standards in respect of preparation, storage, sanitation, and general hygiene.
  • Conduct regular cleaning within kitchen outlets.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Culinary degree and two years' experience in producing pastry in a similar high-caliber establishment required.
  • Received training in Pastry, Garde Manger, Bakery, Production, Japanese Cooking, A La Carte, Buffet, and Kitchen Artistry outlets required.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to deliver a service level that creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return.
  • Commitment to routinely going above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities.
  • Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality while projecting a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Ability to interact with a diverse team of individuals.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledgeable and capable of all Pastry prep.
Work Environment
  • May be exposed to casino-related environmental factors, including second-hand smoke and excessive noise.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
