Position Overview:
The Spartanburg facility is a cutting-edge coffee roasting and pod packaging operation, complemented by a comprehensive beverage distribution center.

Operational Excellence:
This site will adhere to the core principles of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean manufacturing methodologies, and the efficacy of High-Performance Teams.

Accountability:
All team members at the Spartanburg location will possess distinct responsibilities and ownership of both site operations and their respective functional business areas.

Technology and Automation:
The facility will leverage advanced enterprise information technology systems and manufacturing execution systems, alongside highly automated processing, packaging, and material handling equipment, all underpinned by standardized lean processes.

Compensation Structure:
This is a salaried, exempt role compensated on a biweekly basis. The salary is adaptable and determined by the candidate's level of experience.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Safety and Environmental Compliance Manager, you will oversee the comprehensive safety and environmental initiatives for our Spartanburg facility, with a primary emphasis on the manufacturing sector.

- Develop, implement, and manage safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental programs to ensure a compliant, secure, and incident-free workplace.
- Collaborate with various departments to assess current practices and recommend enhancements for safety and environmental standards.
- Provide strategic direction for safety and environmental advancements by identifying root causes and mitigating corporate risks and expenses.
- Execute safety and industrial hygiene protocols to ensure adherence to company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Foster a commitment-based safety culture; develop and analyze leading indicators to prevent accidents and implement a continuous improvement strategy.
- Maintain a robust reporting system for monitoring and addressing serious safety issues.
- Oversee environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and corporate standards.
- Manage all municipality and state-granted environmental permits (Air Emissions, Stormwater).
- Supervise site security contractors to ensure adequate protection of the facility and workforce.
- Develop and conduct safety training for site contractors and visitors, ensuring compliance with company safety and environmental policies.
- Collaborate with medical providers for case management of injured employees, adhering to HR Return to Work policies.
- Generate and distribute incident and accident reports in accordance with company policy.
- Implement training programs to enhance proficiency in safe practices, promote safety awareness, ensure environmental compliance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the execution of strategic EH&S initiatives to meet corporate objectives, fostering commitment to safety goals and programs.
- Establish site-specific safety and health objectives aligned with corporate strategies.
- Analyze safety processes to identify improvement opportunities and share best practices.
- Develop a safety recognition program to reinforce a strong safety culture.
- Communicate and celebrate safety achievements to maintain company-wide commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory and government agencies, preparing necessary reports (e.g., OSHA logs, air emissions summaries).
- Formulate and execute emergency response plans, serving as Incident Commander during emergencies.
- Investigate significant safety incidents, collaborating with teams to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Fulfill supervisory duties in accordance with organizational principles, policies, and applicable laws, while monitoring activities to prevent imminent hazards to personnel or equipment.
