About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our team at Pye Barker Fire and Safety LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing sprinkler systems to prevent or aid fires.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create accurate and detailed sprinkler system layouts, hydraulic calculations, and technical drawings.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, installation teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and follow all OSHA standards and laws.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Attend regular development meetings and provide updates to purchasing as installation schedule or change orders require modifications to meet installation schedule and deadlines.
  • Technical Expertise: Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process, stock list projects for fabrication, and approve fabrication quotes.
  • Professional Development: Keep up to date on all modern advancements in material and software technologies, and utilize large databases of material property information to best select materials for modeling.
  • Analysis and Verification: Analyze and verify all hydraulic calculations to ensure adequate water delivery in the event of a fire condition emergency.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience utilizing CAD software.
  • Certifications: NICET I in water-based systems layout (preferred).
  • Education: Minimum 2-year degree in a related field (preferred).
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to think in a three-dimensional manner.
