Cybersecurity Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Cybersecurity Assurance Specialist to join our team at Input Technology Solutions. This role is crucial in safeguarding our information systems and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Successful completion of a background investigation
- Active TS/SCI clearance required
- Educational Background: Master's degree in a relevant technical field, or a Bachelor's degree accompanied by significant technical experience
- A minimum of eight (8) years of pertinent experience in network, host, data, and/or application security across various operating systems
- Must hold DoD 8570-compliant security certifications to fulfill IAT/IAM III requirements (e.g., Security +, CISM, CISSP, CCNA)
Key Responsibilities:
As a member of our Information System Security Engineering team, you will collaborate with government personnel to architect and engineer robust systems utilizing both established and cutting-edge technologies. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting research, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of sophisticated network security technologies for our organizational information and network systems/applications.
- Advising clients on security solutions for networks, virtual private networks, application systems, and authentication services to ensure data confidentiality and network integrity.
- Executing regular vulnerability assessments of networks to identify security weaknesses, offering remediation strategies, and performing risk evaluations to guarantee adherence to corporate security protocols.
- Designing security measures throughout the development lifecycle, interpreting technological and regulatory conditions into actionable security frameworks.
- Providing expert guidance to align high-level security mandates with practical information technology products and systems through deliberate security configurations.
- Delivering security consultation and engineering support to project managers, system owners, and developers, while ensuring coordination within the lifecycle management and governance processes.
- Engaging in hands-on design of secure systems architecture for deployment in both on-premise and cloud environments, along with supporting Information Systems Security Manager/Officer services during system assessments and authorizations.
- Creating and integrating cybersecurity designs for systems and networks with varying security requirements, particularly for government-related data classifications.
- Offering operational support and development for system environments, along with recommendations for security technologies.
General Required Skills:
- Proficient understanding of DoD and Army Cybersecurity Policies, Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization processes, and related regulations.
- Advanced knowledge of SELinux, Linux, and Windows server environments.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals and protocols such as TCP/IP, SSH, SFTP, HTTP, and SCP.
- Experience with RMF, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253, and NIST Special Publications.
- Understanding of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) and industry best practices.
- Knowledge of Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Host-Based Security Suite (HBSS) applications.
- Awareness of cybersecurity principles, threats, vulnerabilities, and risk management processes.
- Insight into the operational impacts of cybersecurity breaches.
