About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Estimator to join our team at Jobot. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our commercial construction projects. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating project plans, collaborating with project managers, researching bids, negotiating contracts, and preparing quantity surveys.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough site visits to gather all necessary data for preparing estimates.
  • Assess project demands, including labor, materials, and time requirements.
  • Research and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure their quotes are accurate and competitive.
  • Prepare detailed construction proposals that clearly outline the scope of work, timeline, and costs.
  • Negotiate contracts to ensure the best possible terms for the company.
  • Prepare quantity surveys for all materials, labor, equipment, and services required for the project.
  • Present bid packages to clients and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects during the pre-construction phase to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for in the estimate.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, preferably in commercial construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in construction estimating software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, materials, and standards.
  • Excellent numerical skills and ability to produce accurate, detailed estimates.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable contracts.
  • Ability to conduct thorough site visits and accurately assess project demands.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present bid packages to various stakeholders.
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to source and analyze bids from various subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals, including project managers, engineers, and architects.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
