Job Responsibilities

:

80% - Curriculum Design and Teaching:
- Support the creation and execution of the STARBASE initiative, an after-school program for middle school students;
- Aid in the development and rollout of the STARBASE 2.0 initiative;
- Create STARBASE educational materials and course outlines for effective instruction;
- Establish learning objectives, plans, designs, and program frameworks prior to the engagement of participating schools;
- Educate others and assess the effectiveness of instructional delivery;
- Demonstrate the ability to co-teach effectively, utilizing various co-teaching strategies with all educational staff;
- Organize and oversee the inventory of educational resources.

15% - Policy Formulation:
- Assist in crafting policies and procedures;
- Collaborate with the Program Director to address challenges;
- Prepare oral and/or written analyses and recommendations for program enhancement;
- Contribute to annual program assessments, data gathering, and analysis for continuous improvement;
- Complete required annual training as mandated by DHRM/DMA;
- Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and standards.

5% - Liaison Role:
- Assist in establishing partnerships;
- Help develop and maintain active public relations and outreach initiatives;
- Provide supplementary resources for educators;
- Support teachers participating in the STARBASE program.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. The role may require assistance to the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration.

Minimum Qualifications

*A Bachelor's Degree in a STEM or Education discipline is required;

Proficiency in mathematics, science, aerospace, or a related field;

Must exhibit high motivation and the capacity to work collaboratively;

Significant knowledge of instructional design is essential;

Comprehensive understanding of planning, organizing, and preparing educational materials;

Ability to instruct others, assess training needs, formulate learning objectives, and evaluate training effectiveness;

Capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships;

Experience in curriculum development is mandatory.

*Educational qualifications must comply with DoD guidelines.

Additional Considerations

A valid state education certification is preferred;

Experience in elementary education is advantageous.
