District Sales Manager

Role Summary
The District Sales Manager will lead and inspire a field-based sales team to capitalize on local market potential, customer needs, and market access dynamics to meet and exceed business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage available market data and promotional resources to drive sales performance
- Effectively coach and mentor individual sales representatives to align with client expectations
- Handle performance reviews, personnel issues, and disciplinary actions
- Understand and manage sales targets at the territory level and associated incentive compensation programs
- Make regular field visits to develop and motivate representatives for attainment of sales objectives
- Monitor and manage field reporting by representatives, including call reporting
- Communicate with project lead and client on a regular and timely basis
- Assist with planning and delivery of annual business plans, training, and periodic sales meetings
- Monitor compliance with expense policies, promotional programs, and proper use of promotional materials and expense budgets
- Develop mastery of CRM, BI, HR, and promotional systems and train representatives on these systems
- Align district direction with brand strategy and develop and execute district and account level plans
- Conduct periodic district sales meetings to support training and pull through of national product strategy
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years pharmaceutical sales experience with a strong track record of sales success
- Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical sales management experience
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including significant driving and flying to manage the district
- Solid understanding of market access and ability to coach on how to utilize manufacturer tools to navigate challenges
- Demonstrated ability to coach and counsel to reinforce product knowledge and core selling message, role model best practices, and uncover and communicate local market access conditions
- Ability to leverage tools and data to conduct sales analytics for the district to guide decisions and resource allocation
