Responsibilities

We are looking for a Field Service Technician to manage field deployment and technical support tasks related to a network security solution. The selected candidate will be tasked with system installations at client sites, integrating these systems within existing infrastructure, and facilitating security approval processes. This role requires travel to customer locations worldwide, ranging from 25% to 50%.

Key Responsibilities

  • Once fully trained, your primary responsibilities will include coordinating installation efforts with client representatives, traveling to client sites for system installation and configuration, and collaborating with product development teams to stay informed about new security and functional features in upcoming releases.
  • Support a wide array of tasks including functional testing, system installation prototyping, customer training, technical support, and staging of system hardware.
  • During installations, integrate with various site infrastructure components such as email servers, file servers, time servers, PKI servers, continuous monitoring systems, VM Servers, and KVM capabilities.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of engineering environment systems/networks to support installation planning, customer training, and Help Desk operations.
Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Possess a BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field with 0 to 2 years of experience, or a High School Diploma/Associates Degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Have a foundational understanding of Linux OS, Microsoft Windows, desktop applications, computer networking, and VM technologies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be capable of quickly obtaining and maintaining a TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess a solid understanding of UNIX OSs, Microsoft Windows, desktop applications, computer networking and protocols, Virtual Machine technologies, UNIX scripting, XML technologies/tools, Active Directory, and MS Exchange.
  • Have a basic understanding of Security Enhanced Linux (SE Linux).
  • Experience with system integration, network troubleshooting, and system troubleshooting is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with multi-level secure system architectures and system approval processes is preferred.
  • Possess a good grasp of software development processes to effectively collaborate with software engineering teams.
  • Hold a current active TS/SCI clearance or a TS clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
