About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Transportation team in the US South Sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the structural design of various transportation and infrastructure projects, with a focus on highway, railway, and transit structures, including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the structural design for all project types, including complex bridge designs
  • Lead the planning and schematic/geometric layout of new structures
  • Perform analysis and design calculations according to the applicable design codes; use computer programs as appropriate
  • Prepare plan drawings and details, construction specifications, and design calculations
  • Perform Construction and Life Cycle Cost estimates and prepare load rating calculations
  • Oversee project construction administration, including reviews of shop drawings and Requests for Information
  • Supervise and direct staff engineers and technicians to meet project deadlines, as well as scope and budget requirements
  • Assist project managers with scoping and budgeting for structural work and be responsible for quality assurance of deliverables
Requirements
  • 10 years progressively responsible relevant experience
  • BS in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Licensed PE in Georgia
  • Prior experience with complex bridge projects a plus
  • Knowledge of AASHTO and bridge analysis, design, and detailing preferred
  • Knowledge of structural analysis software, including SAP-CSI, AASHTOWareBrR, LARSA 4D, or similar preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of MicroStation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians
  • Strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to mentor structural engineers
