Position Overview:

As a Quantum Research Specialist, you will utilize your extensive knowledge in quantum physics and academic research methodologies to investigate and analyze quantum phenomena and information sciences, which encompass quantum computing, quantum communications, and quantum sensing. Your role will involve applying specialized functional and industry knowledge to develop innovative solutions for a range of complex challenges. You will work autonomously with minimal supervision while also mentoring junior team members.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in the study of quantum mechanics and the principles that underpin quantum computing.
  • Demonstrated research experience in quantum algorithms or quantum materials.
  • Expertise in managing large datasets, including data collection, manipulation, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence or machine learning methodologies.
  • Strong ability to communicate intricate concepts to a varied audience, both in writing and verbally.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
  • Evidence of scientific publications in the fields of quantum algorithms or quantum materials.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Information Science.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of experience in quantum information processing, quantum computing, quantum networking, or related fields acquired through academic internships or post-doctoral research.
  • Experience in managing scientific projects.
  • Background in a supervisory or advisory capacity.
  • Proficiency in programming.
  • Experience in data science, including analysis, visualization, and machine learning techniques.
  • History of postdoctoral research in quantum information.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Possession of a secret clearance.
  • Doctorate degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technology discipline.

Security Clearance:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
