Perioperative Nurse Specialist

At OakBend Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Perioperative Services team.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, judgment, and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement individualized care plans to address the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients.
- Collaborate with perioperative professionals, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, identify potential risks, and implement interventions to prevent complications.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote informed decision-making and empowerment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
- Minimum two years of experience in perioperative services or completion of AORN Perioperative 101 program.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) within six months of hire.
