Event Service Supervisor

The Event Service Supervisor will manage all elements of an event from preparation to conclusion and serve as the primary liaison for the event organizer or host. The ideal candidate should possess prior experience in event service and demonstrate exceptional leadership and customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the hiring, training, and scheduling of event staff.
  • Ensure a high standard of service throughout all operational aspects, providing guests with a memorable experience.
  • Facilitate effective communication between clients and the event team.
  • Handle daily cash transactions accurately.
  • Foster a service-oriented work environment.
  • Guarantee that every dish served meets the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all public areas, including windows and entrance points.
  • Delegate service-related tasks to team members.
  • Assist with clearing tables and managing dishware as needed.
  • Anticipate and prepare for supply requirements for each event.
  • Ensure dining and buffet setups are properly arranged for service.
  • Communicate any shortages of items from the kitchen to the staff.
  • Perform wine service at the table when required.
  • Conduct basic cleaning tasks as necessary.
  • Fill in for absent team members when needed.
  • Welcome all guests with a warm and appropriate greeting.
  • Consistently adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
  • Understand and convey the products and services offered by the hotel.
  • Follow all safety and security protocols established by the company.
  • Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Ensure team members maintain a professional appearance and adhere to grooming standards.
  • Protect confidential information and company assets.
  • Proactively address and anticipate guest service needs.
  • Assist guests with disabilities as required.
  • Express genuine appreciation to guests.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and guests.
  • Comply with quality assurance standards and expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of experience in food and beverage service preferred.
  • Prior training in guest service.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests and staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive and enthusiastic demeanor.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
  • Food safety training and certification as required by law.
  • Familiarity with basic cooking techniques.
  • Experience with computer systems (MS Office/Google) and POS systems (Micros).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and reaching.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push or pull equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
