Job Overview

We are seeking a committed and proficient Catering Manager to manage and implement all aspects related to event catering at JJ's Grill. The Catering Manager will be responsible for the coordination and execution of catering services, which includes tasks such as ordering supplies, preparing quotes, and managing invoicing processes. This role also involves receiving and unloading deliveries, overseeing buffet setups, and ensuring that chafing dishes are replenished as necessary. After events, the Catering Manager will be tasked with packing up all catering equipment, dishes, and any leftover food.

To excel in this position, you should possess a solid understanding of food safety and health regulations to guarantee the well-being of all event attendees. An exceptional Catering Manager should also exhibit outstanding communication abilities and consistently deliver excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and communicating prep lists to kitchen personnel based on catering requests.
  • Ensuring timely ordering of all necessary products for catering assignments.
  • Organizing and making available all supplies required for each catering job.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all tableware and chafing dishes post-event.
  • Overseeing the organization and cleanliness of the catering area, including hot boxes and equipment.
  • Performing some food preparation and execution as needed.
  • Packaging, delivering, and setting up catering orders for clients.
  • Taking catering orders via phone and communicating them to the Catering Manager for pricing.
  • Processing and collecting payments from clients when necessary.
  • Managing buffet-style setups, service, and breakdown as requested by clients.
  • Being available for early morning and late-night shifts as required.
  • Engaging in physical activities that may involve lifting and labor-intensive tasks.
  • Contributing to business growth through various initiatives, including:
    • Cold calling potential clients.
    • Following up with existing clients for additional business opportunities.
    • Collaborating with the catering team to enhance sales with current clients.
    • Participating in community events to promote our catering services.
    • Identifying ways to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs to boost profitability.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in the catering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Exceptional customer service aptitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Capacity to remain composed and make swift decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Willingness to work on weekends and holidays.
  • Previous managerial experience is preferred but not mandatory.
