Job Summary

The Peter Claver Community is a comprehensive stabilization program for chronically homeless individuals living with disabling HIV/AIDS. As an Administrative Assistant I, you will play a vital role in supporting the program's operations. Your responsibilities will include maintaining office supplies, organizing files, and providing exceptional customer service to visitors. You will also be responsible for answering phone calls, data entry, and addressing visitor questions and needs. Additionally, you will assist in implementing policies and practices of the agency, produce and reconcile monthly and quarterly reports, and maintain office supply budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors to the office and provide a welcoming environment.
  • Maintain proper client referral information in the database.
  • Help build positive relations within the programs and external parties.
  • Schedule and organize meetings and events for the programs.
  • Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations.
  • Coordinate activities for support staff and volunteers.
  • Keep team members up-to-date with relevant agency information.

Requirements

  • AA degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with San Francisco housing resources and public benefits.
  • Experience working with program coordination.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to listen actively and communicate effectively with individuals and groups.

Work Environment

The work environment includes contact with clients with mental health issues who demonstrate behaviors such as use of profanity, shouting, running away, self-harm, and violence. The worker is occasionally exposed to perfume or scents in personal care products used by employees, clients, and visitors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in accordance with typical office environment.
