Job Overview:


Shriners Children's, a leading medical center specializing in pediatric burn care, orthopedics, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate, and various pediatric subspecialties, is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to join our dedicated team.


Responsibilities:


Shriners Children's Lexington has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Patient Access Coordinator position within our Patient Access Department, operating Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with weekends and major holidays off.

The role involves monitoring specific queues daily and reaching out to families or guardians to complete pre-registration tasks ahead of scheduled appointments.

Responsibilities include obtaining and verifying all patient financial information in the SHCIS system, ensuring accurate documentation.

The coordinator will create outpatient pre-registration encounters for all upcoming appointments.

Verification of insurance details for each visit will be conducted using integrated SHCIS applications for participating providers.

Patient registration will be performed in accordance with the guidelines established by the department and hospital as necessary.

Qualifications:

Required:
Current full Covid vaccination status is mandatory.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

A minimum of 6 months of experience in registration, scheduling, and insurance verification within an acute care or group practice setting is required.

Preferred:
Proficiency in computer applications is preferred.
