Fish and Wildlife Administrator

The U.S. Department of the Interior is seeking a highly qualified Fish and Wildlife Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing and implementing programs related to the protection of fish and wildlife resources.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement short- and long-range plans to ensure adherence to laws and policies governing the management of fish and wildlife resources.
- Provide leadership and advocacy for national and regional program issues and policies, including the Fish and Aquatic Conservation Program.
- Estimate and justify resources, including funding, space, supplies, equipment, and personnel needs.
- Manage multimillion-dollar budgets for assigned programs and determine needs for special projects and studies.
- Provide support to the field, ecosystem teams, and the Regional Director by collaborating with the Regional Office, other ARDs, and program staff.
- Implement programs such as the Fish Passage Program, Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention and Control Program, and Aquatic Habitat Restoration Program.
- Serve as an expert consultant and provide advice to the Regional Director and other Service officials and managers concerning controversial and complex scientific, political, and economic issues.

- Supervisory Probationary Period: Selectees who have not previously completed a supervisory probationary period, will be required to serve a one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period for this position.
