Job Summary

Clinton Memorial Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by processing and sterilizing surgical instruments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments
  • Deliver processed instruments to external units within the hospital
  • Work rotational weekends and pull SPD call technician duties
  • Perform daily and weekly tests on departmental equipment
  • Initiate Biomed or Facilities work orders as needed
  • Maintain records for sterilizer loads and equipment tests
  • Identify broken or malfunctioning instruments
  • Store processed surgical instrumentations in designated areas
  • Follow manufacturer recommendations when operating SPD equipment
  • Perform other related duties as needed

Requirements

  • Equivalent to four (4) years of high school
  • Successful completion of SPD Technician course preferred
  • Certification not required but must obtain within one (1) year of hire date

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer knowledge and skills (Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Effective communication skills at all levels of internal and external customers
  • Able to multitask without losing efficiency and quality of work

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working rotational weekends and pulling SPD call technician duties.
