Patient Access Coordinator

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient admission process for patients at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor, ME.
Key Responsibilities:- Assign accurate Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) and complete medical necessity/compliance checks
- Provide proper patient instructions and collect insurance information
- Process physician orders and utilize an overlay tool to ensure accurate and timely processing
- Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls
- Adhere to policies and provide excellent customer service with compassion and empathy
- Meet point of service goals and conduct quality audits to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits and collect point of service collections and past due balances
- Explain general consent for treatment forms and obtain necessary signatures and witness's name
- Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems and select applicable insurance plan codes
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification required within 6 months of hire
