Job Title: Development and Grant Associate

Join New York Common Pantry, a leading poverty-fighting organization, in a dynamic role that combines development and grant writing expertise. As a Development and Grant Associate, you will play a crucial part in securing funding to support our mission of reducing hunger and promoting dignity, health, and self-sufficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development (60%):
    • Schedule board committee meetings and prepare materials for attendees.
    • Process donations and issue acknowledgment letters in collaboration with the Senior Database and Systems Coordinator.
    • Maintain Raiser's Edge database entries and dashboards, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
    • Generate routine fundraising reports using Raiser's Edge.
  • Grants Associate (40%):
    • Collaborate with the Senior Grant Writer to assess, develop, and execute NYCP's strategic grants process.
    • Manage government portals and city, state, and federal contract materials.
    • Assist in managing proposals and reporting deadlines.
    • Research and present potential foundation, corporation, and government opportunities that align with NYCP's mission.
    • Gather documentation required for proposals and write/edit supporting materials as needed.
    • Build relationships with potential funders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit development office.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office and/or GSuite.
  • Commitment to helping communities in need and NYCP's mission.
  • Excellent communication skills and judgment with the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
  • Strong familiarity with data entry and database management, prior experience with Raiser's Edge highly preferred.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to follow through and maintain accurate records.
