Role Purpose:

The Patient Services Coordinator serves as the first point of contact within a clinical environment, responsible for managing check-in/check-out processes and scheduling patient appointments. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with organizational policies while upholding confidentiality and promoting the clinic's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule appointments using the clinic's computer system, ensuring demographic information is accurate and notifying patients of any account balances.
  2. Welcome patients and check them in using the computer system.
  3. Verify insurance eligibility through online resources.
  4. Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and up-to-date, including scanning insurance cards when applicable.
  5. Collect payments from patients, accurately posting amounts and balancing the cash drawer for end-of-day deposits.
  6. Generate face sheets, receipts, and other required documents.
  7. Communicate effectively with staff regarding emergencies, messages, and patient arrivals.
  8. Confirm patient appointments in advance and manage rescheduling as necessary.
  9. Verify Workers Compensation claims and ensure all paperwork is completed.
  10. Assist patients in establishing payment plans and issue receipts for payments received.
  11. Maintain adherence to all company policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and the Code of Conduct.
  12. Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance.
  13. Complete additional duties as assigned, including patient registration and document processing.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Required: High school diploma or GED. Proficiency in using a PC in a Windows environment. Consideration will be given to candidates with more extensive experience.

Preferred: Previous experience in a medical setting.
