Position Overview
This role involves the direct oversight and management of intricate and high-stakes claims within our Major Litigation Unit. The ideal candidate will possess the technical acumen necessary to evaluate risk and exposure related to CNA insureds, and will be adept at presenting evaluations and resolution strategies to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities
As an individual contributor, you will:
1. Manage a portfolio of highly complex commercial claims with significant exposures, necessitating advanced technical expertise and coordination.
2. Adhere to company protocols to verify policy coverage, conduct thorough investigations, and develop effective resolution strategies, which may include risk transfer pursuits, extensive negotiations, and management of multifaceted litigation.
3. Analyze policy language to recommend and prepare coverage determinations.
4. Ensure exceptional customer service by managing all facets of the claim process, interacting professionally with insureds, claimants, and business partners.
5. Provide timely updates and respond promptly to inquiries and requests for information.
6. Set and manage appropriate reserves considering coverage, liability, and damages.
7. Drive claims to closure with a high degree of independence and proactive handling, collaborating with internal and external partners to develop and execute claim resolution strategies.

Leadership Communication
Keep leadership informed of significant risks and losses by projecting exposure and completing loss summaries and similar reporting. Prepare and present claim status and evaluations to leadership.

Expertise Development
Maintain subject matter expertise and ensure compliance with state and local regulatory requirements. Mentor and guide less experienced Claim Professionals, providing training and development opportunities.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- In-depth knowledge of the commercial insurance industry, including products, policy language, coverage, and claims practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex business and technical information clearly.
- Analytical and investigative mindset with critical thinking skills to effectively evaluate and resolve challenging business problems.
- Proven ability to negotiate complex settlements and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn business-related software.

Education & Experience
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required, along with a minimum of six years of relevant experience in claims handling. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License where applicable.
