The Senior Claims Team Leader is a frontline supervisor tasked with facilitating the achievement of team goals by nurturing, managing, and inspiring a team of dedicated, high-performing claims specialists. This individual merges exceptional technical claims expertise with strong leadership and personnel management capabilities. Senior Leaders offer managerial support, direction, and mentorship to their designated teams. Responsibilities include:
- Enhancing employee engagement, professional development, and overall team performance
- Monitoring Key Performance Indicators and ensuring compliance with best practices through regular audits
- Evaluating coverage assessments prepared by the team, including denial decisions
- Promoting effective litigation management practices within the team
- Identifying and proposing solutions for significant issues and trends to senior management
- Distributing new claims, reopened cases, and those requiring reassignment due to complexity
- Serving as the primary contact for client and broker grievances
- Assisting in the preparation and presentation of reserve evaluations and claims trends
- Actively participating in the feedback loop between Claims, Underwriting, and Actuarial teams
- Contributing to recruitment and onboarding initiatives
The Claims division at The Ladders is a dynamic team of professionals collaborating to deliver exceptional customer service and claims management expertise. The claims personnel are empowered to handle their cases within established authority, ensuring fair and prompt resolutions for our clients and partners. With significant growth in the business, the Claims team is dedicated to achieving profitability while upholding The Ladders' esteemed reputation for outstanding claims management.
- Over 10 years of experience in claims management. A Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited institution may be considered as a complement to claims experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Professional Liability claims, with a focus on Miscellaneous Professional Liability
- A minimum of 4 years in a claims management role
- Proven leadership and personnel management abilities
- In-depth knowledge of claims management practices, including coverage evaluation, litigation oversight, and negotiation
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Expertise in specific subject matter
- Proven track record of driving product innovation, enhancing claims processes, or gaining insights into other business areas through training and collaboration with stakeholders
- Technical leadership capabilities to address challenges presented by team members or other internal and external parties
