Job Overview

Position Type: Part-time, irregular hours

Hours may vary based on the schedule established by the Nursery Coordinator.

Objective: To support the mission of the Church by helping to fulfill its vision of "Encouraging one another to follow Jesus wherever we live, work, and play." This role specifically involves overseeing children requiring care in the nursery or classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure constant supervision and personal attention to children.
  • Exhibit the necessary physical, emotional, and intellectual skills to maintain self-control and sound judgment in all assigned tasks.
  • Acknowledge and honor the individuality and potential of each child, along with their families and cultural backgrounds.
  • Engage regularly with children, demonstrating warmth, interest, and respect.
  • Encourage age-appropriate independence among children.
  • Adhere to the guidance and conduct policies set forth by the Nursery Coordinator at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
  • Comply with the sign-in and sign-out protocols established by Covenant Presbyterian Church.
  • Facilitate suitable activities for children based on their age when applicable.
  • Must be proficient in English, both spoken and written.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for working with and caring for children.
  • Prior experience in childcare is advantageous.
  • Dependable, patient, and possess a positive demeanor.
  • Capability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification is required or willingness to obtain certification.
