Position Overview

SUMMARY
This entry-level position is designed for individuals aiming to develop foundational skills in welding and assembly. Employees will engage in various departments related to welding and assembly processes. It is anticipated that most candidates will transition to their designated roles within a short timeframe. A successful applicant is proactive and demonstrates a strong commitment to quality and career advancement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consistent and timely attendance is crucial for individual and team effectiveness. All employees are expected to maintain regular attendance.

  1. Configures welding equipment for MIG or Flux Core wire to meet production and quality benchmarks.
  2. Supports Welders in preparation, grinding, cutting, and equipment setup.
  3. Assists in the arrangement of tanks and pressure vessel components.
  4. Safely executes SMAW, GMAW, or SAW tasks.
  5. Acquires knowledge of basic assembly techniques.
  6. Operates various hand, air, and power tools safely.
  7. Learn to accurately identify and document vessel components.
  8. Provides assistance to assigned mentors as needed.
  9. Examines and welds components, ensuring quality standards are met under mentor supervision.
  10. Completes the initial 90-day evaluation checklist.
  11. Adheres to the 5 As of performance: Attendance, Attitude, Adaptability, Accident-free, and Accountability.
  12. Follows all safety protocols and procedures.
  13. Organizes the workspace under the guidance of team leaders to fulfill production requirements.
  14. Performs additional tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  2. Welding certification and/or 0-6 months of relevant welding or assembly experience is required.
  3. Must successfully pass a welding skills assessment prior to employment.
  4. Ability to practice and pass basic ASME welder performance qualification tests if applicable.
  5. Intermediate mathematical skills and proficiency in reading a tape measure are essential.
  6. Must be capable of distinguishing between various part numbers and sizes.
  7. Ability to accurately count and label components is necessary.
  8. Must learn to read and interpret pressure gauges.
  9. Familiarity with blueprints is highly preferred.

  8. Must use hands and fingers to manipulate tools and small components.
  9. Must be able to navigate both even and uneven surfaces.
  10. Must be able to work in varying temperature conditions.
  11. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  12. Must be physically capable of accessing all areas of the facility.
  13. Some tasks may require working in confined spaces.
  14. Some responsibilities may necessitate close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus on small details.
