This entry-level position is designed to cultivate the skills of novice welders and assemblers. Employees will experience various welding and assembly sectors. It is anticipated that most individuals hired into this role will transition to their designated departments within a period of 6 months or less. A successful candidate demonstrates self-motivation and a robust work ethic to ensure all quality standards are achieved and career advancement is pursued.
QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, an individual must competently perform each essential duty or responsibility. The criteria listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regular and punctual attendance is a fundamental job function for each position and is crucial for both individual effectiveness and that of the team. All employees are required to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Configures welding equipment to MIG or Flux Core wire as necessary to meet production and quality benchmarks.
- Supports Welder 1 and 2 in fitting, grinding, cutting, and equipment preparation.
- Assists in the arrangement of tanks and pressure vessel components.
- Safely executes and performs SMAW, GMAW, or SAW tasks.
- Acquires knowledge of basic assembly procedures.
- Safely utilizes various hand, air, and power tools.
- Learn to accurately identify and document vessel parts/components.
- Provides assistance to the assigned mentor as needed.
- Inspects and welds all components ensuring there are no welding flaws, discontinuities, or defects under the mentor's guidance.
- Completes the 90-day evaluation checklist.
- Adheres to the 5 As of performance (Attendance, Attitude, Adaptability, Accident-free, and Accountability).
- Complies with all safety policies and procedures.
- Organizes the workspace under the direction of group leaders to meet production requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Welding Certificate and/or 0-6 months of prior welding or assembly experience or equivalent knowledge is required.
- Must successfully pass a welding skill pre-employment assessment.
- Practice and pass basic ASME welder performance qualification tests if applicable.
- Intermediate mathematical skills and the ability to read a tape measure are essential.
- Must be able to differentiate between part numbers and sizes.
- Must accurately count and label components.
- Must learn to understand pressure gauges and their readings.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints is strongly preferred.

- Must be capable of standing for extended periods, potentially for the entire shift.

- Must have the ability to see, speak, and hear.

- Must use fingers and hands to manipulate tools and small components.
- Must navigate both even and uneven surfaces.
- Must work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be physically capable of accessing all areas of the facility.
- Some aspects of this role may require working in confined spaces.
- Some aspects of this role may necessitate close vision, depth perception, the ability to see small details, and the ability to adjust focus.
