Job Overview

As a Pipe Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for the precise assembly of welded pipe spools, ensuring compliance with established tolerances. Your role will involve:

  • Locating and setting up equipment and structural components.
  • Verifying spools against technical drawings to confirm readiness for installation.
  • Lifting, positioning, and assembling various components while adhering to specified tolerances.
  • Inspecting materials for correct grade, type, and size prior to installation.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of piping systems by removing foreign particles before assembly.
  • Coordinating hydro testing with the Assembly Department Lead or Supervisor and Quality Control to establish appropriate pressure and testing methods.
  • Meeting the company’s productivity standards as outlined in work instructions.
  • Following safety policies and procedures as per the safety manual.
  • Ensuring a clean and organized work area at the end of each shift.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of two years of relevant assembly experience with the ability to work under general supervision.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings with minimal assistance.
  • Knowledge of crane operations and power tools.
  • Familiarity with hydro testing equipment, blind flanges, stud bolts, and gaskets.
  • A commitment to professionalism and teamwork, contributing positively to project completion while upholding quality and safety standards.

This position is considered safety-sensitive, requiring responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others while operating machinery such as forklifts and cranes.
