Job Overview

Position Summary: As a Sous Chef I, you will play a vital role in the success of our Student Athlete Dining program by overseeing culinary operations. This position involves assisting in various stages of planning, procurement, inventory management, and food preparation. You will ensure compliance with client culture, health regulations, and company standards for food quality, freshness, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and participate in the preparation and cooking of diverse food items.
  • Assist in menu planning and development.
  • Implement new culinary initiatives in collaboration with marketing and culinary teams.
  • Manage cost controls and monitor expenditures.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant culinary experience, including at least 1 year in a management role.
  • Experience in various food service environments such as restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, or healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of food trends with an emphasis on quality, production, sanitation, safety, and presentation.
  • Ability to create and distribute production sheets effectively.
  • Demonstrated supervisory, leadership, training, and coaching skills.
  • ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly MS Office applications including Excel.
  • An Associate's degree in Culinary Arts is preferred.
