We welcome your Environmental Consulting expertise along with your strong leadership capabilities as you work towards innovative and sustainable environmental solutions, while also aiding in the expansion of our business in New England. This role presents significant opportunities for local leadership and career advancement, as we seek acknowledged leaders in the consulting sector within the New England region. We are in search of a highly qualified and driven Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional (LSP) to become a part of our team. As an LSP, your responsibilities will include managing and supervising the investigation, assessment, and remediation of contaminated sites in alignment with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP). You will collaborate closely with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to relevant environmental regulations and to achieve the desired outcomes for site cleanup and restoration.

If you are an LSP with a strong presence in the Massachusetts market and are interested in the potential to take on a leadership role at Ramboll, this opportunity is tailored for you.

Key Responsibilities

As our new LSP in Massachusetts, you will become part of a distinguished New England team that assists clients with a diverse array of environmental challenges.

The successful candidate will be tasked with providing both technical and business leadership, contributing to advanced solutions across various sectors including environmental, chemical, commercial, manufacturing, government, energy, financial, insurance, and law. Furthermore, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to generate and sustain a volume of business sufficient to support the firm’s growth, typically generating enough business to sustain 2-3 staff members engaged in MCP-related matters.

This individual should possess experience in managing consulting projects, work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, exhibit proficiency in the analysis and communication of information, and collaborate effectively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to facilitate decision-making. Proficiency in all aspects of project management is also expected. The successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to mentoring and developing staff while collaborating with colleagues throughout the practice.

Your Key Tasks May Include:

  • Site Investigation and Assessment: Conduct thorough site investigations to identify potential contamination sources, assess risks, and formulate appropriate remediation strategies. Collect and analyze soil, groundwater, and other environmental samples in accordance with established protocols and regulations. Perform data interpretation, risk assessment, and modeling to ascertain the extent and nature of contamination and its potential effects on human health and the environment.
  • Remediation Planning and Implementation: Develop and execute effective remediation plans based on site investigation findings and risk assessments. Design and oversee the implementation of remediation strategies, which may encompass excavation, soil vapor extraction, groundwater treatment, in-situ bioremediation, or other suitable methods. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and permits throughout the remediation process.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: Interact and coordinate with regulatory agencies, such as the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP), to secure necessary approvals, permits, and closure documentation. Prepare and submit comprehensive reports, including site investigation reports, risk assessment reports, remedial action plans, progress reports, and closure reports. Stay informed about changes in environmental regulations and guidelines, ensuring compliance with evolving requirements.
  • Client Management and Communication: Act as the primary liaison for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables. Collaborate with project teams, including environmental engineers, geologists, and technicians, to ensure seamless project execution. Clearly communicate complex technical information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Implement quality control and assurance measures to guarantee accurate and reliable data collection, analysis, and reporting. Conduct periodic audits and reviews of project activities to verify compliance with project plans, regulations, and best practices. Promptly identify and address any deviations or discrepancies in project execution.
