Head Start Site Director

The Y in Central Maryland is a charitable, mission-driven organization that works for individual and community well-being for all. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our Head Start centers as a Site Director.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young children and their families. As a Site Director, you will be responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations of our Head Start centers, ensuring high-quality, integrated comprehensive services are implemented consistently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Head Start Teachers, Assistant Head Start Teachers, Resource Aides, Food Service Personnel, Drivers, and Substitute teachers.
  • Manage the overall management and day-to-day operations of the Head Start centers, including compliance with regulatory requirements and program standards.
  • Collaborate with other Y team members to ensure high-quality, integrated comprehensive services are implemented consistently.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate programs to meet the needs of children and families.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, families, and community partners.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including program data and financial information.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Supervise and develop staff, including training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies, Child Development, Human Development, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in an early learning center.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and program standards preferred.
  • Experience managing multi-center locations.
  • ECERS and ITERS preferred.
  • Knowledge of Computer Applications.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • CLASS Reliability certification.
  • 45-Hour Director's Certification.
  • 90-Hour Certification, if the degree is not in a related field.
