Job Summary

The Town of Chapel Hill NC is seeking a skilled Stormwater Management Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Stormwater Management Division, you will play a crucial role in promoting public awareness and engagement around stormwater management and water quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate volunteer activities and manage opportunities for public involvement and education
  • Assist in managing Stream Team, a tier 2 volunteer water quality monitoring program
  • Work with interns during the Fall and Spring semesters
  • Coordinate environmental education outreach and volunteer training events
  • Perform data analysis and visualization
  • Design and publish outreach materials
  • Clerical work including data entry tasks, filing, copying, etc.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate effective communication orally, in writing, and/or graphic forms
  • Be proficient with computers and able to learn how to use software applications
  • Be eager to learn and able to work independently

Working Conditions

The work is typically performed primarily virtually and occasionally in an office or offsite venues for special events. The schedule is flexible depending on the availability of the employee.
