Position Details:

The Claims Processing Specialist will be instrumental in assisting disaster survivors through effective case management. This role involves addressing challenges to facilitate seamless claims processing, utilizing problem-solving skills and empathy. All actions will be guided by our Corporate Values Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and analyze issues in claims processing, proposing solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Oversee third-party claims processing procedures, gathering and presenting data for corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and recommend actionable courses of action.
  • Facilitate communication between claims processors and management to eliminate processing barriers.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, effectively engaging with individuals across various expertise levels.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to engage on-site with clients as necessary.
  • Ability to work long hours at a computer or on-site.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and mobility within office and client locations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years in customer service roles.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a program analyst or claims processor for disaster survivors.
  • 3+ years in insurance and claims processing.
  • Proven emotional intelligence, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills.
  • Experience in developing actionable solutions and recommending improvements.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Office 365 applications.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in emergency management or public safety is advantageous.
  • 3-5+ years in FEMA Public Assistance Programs.
  • 5+ years in case management or program analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, along with experience in emergency management.
