Job Overview
The City of New York is seeking a dedicated professional for the position of Child Support Financial Operations Supervisor. This role is pivotal in overseeing the fiscal management of child support services, ensuring that all financial transactions are executed with precision and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing the workflow and training of bookkeeping staff, addressing complex operational challenges, and refining work processes.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of subordinate work to guarantee adherence to established policies and procedures regarding child support financial management.
  • Supervising the maintenance of financial records, including journals and ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of accounting data.
  • Overseeing the examination of claims and vouchers, ensuring all valid claims are processed correctly.
  • Reviewing the reconciliation of ledger accounts to ensure compliance with accepted accounting standards.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly financial reports to the appropriate authorities.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 30 semester credits from an accredited institution, including 6 credits in accounting, or
  • A high school diploma and two years of relevant bookkeeping experience, or
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.

Additionally, candidates must possess at least one year of experience as a Bookkeeper or four years of relevant full-time bookkeeping experience to be eligible for Assignment Level III.
