Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group Careers. As a key member of our culinary department, you will be responsible for the successful operation of our kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and create menus that meet the needs of our clients and customers.
  • Produce and execute catering events that exceed our clients' expectations.
  • Develop and implement new culinary programs in conjunction with our marketing and culinary teams.
Requirements
  • A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, with a focus on high-volume, complex foodservice operations.
  • Catering experience is a plus, as is experience with institutional and batch cooking.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the internet.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
