We are seeking a highly skilled Field Deployment Specialist to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing instruments and equipment for seismic station deployment and maintenance field trips.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Deployment Tasks: Preparing instruments and equipment for seismic station deployment and maintenance field trips.
  • Equipment Repair: Repairing failed equipment for characterizing failures for return to manufacturer.
  • Documentation: Documenting field activities, such as failures found, method of repair and instruments replaced and deployed.
  • Site Scouting: Scouting new sites for station deployment.

This involves erecting solar panels, deploying power systems and instruments in electronics cabinets, and deploying sensors in the ground.

You will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining supplies inventory, placing orders as needed.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Requirements:
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Skills: Strong technical skills, including knowledge of instrumentation and electronics.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
