Atlantic Constructors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Service/Sales Manager to join our team.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing complete estimates for bids on projects assigned and will also be involved in developing and managing the growth of the Western Virginia Fire Protection group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review all construction documents, including instructions to bidders, scope of work, and general conditions
  • Budgeting and financial reporting for Eastern Virginia group
  • Project tracking activities, including performing and leading project coordination
  • Coordinating with leadership for planned growth and development
  • Laying out fire protection systems for accurate bid takeoff
  • Soliciting subcontractor and vendor quotations to ensure comprehensive coverage
  • Distributing plans, specifications, and addenda to subcontractors and vendors via company FTP website or email
  • Assisting in the development of bid strategies
  • Participating in pre-bid meetings and site visits, which may require occasional travel
  • Reviewing take-off and pricing for completeness on all self-performed work
  • Reviewing subcontractor and vendor quotations for compliance with plans and specifications
  • Developing rough draft scope of work for proposals
  • Assisting in negotiating subcontracts and procurement of materials and equipment
  • Entering estimate into job cost control program and participating in turnover/transition meetings with operations team
  • Experienced in fire protection industry standards, including shop fabrication
  • Skilled in providing budgets, estimates, construction schedules, and manpower projections
  • Able to meet critical deadlines
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication skills

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in large fire protection construction projects or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years' Estimating/Pre-Construction experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and efficiency in fire protection hydraulic calculation software
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes relevant to fire protection industry (NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 24)
  • Understanding of fire protection system layout
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to meet critical deadlines
  • Self-motivated, able to multitask, work with minimal supervision, demonstrate attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This role requires working in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment, and occasionally visiting construction and industrial work sites, which may involve stairs and ladders on multiple floors/levels.

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, with opportunities for growth and advancement.
