Job Overview

The Construction Project Supervisor plays a crucial role in fostering and sustaining a cooperative relationship with all stakeholders involved in the project to ensure that objectives are met. This position entails providing technical guidance, coordinating activities, and ensuring quality control for daily operations and future planning on the assigned project. The role requires direct interaction with subcontractors, suppliers, local government officials, design professionals, and clients, ensuring effective communication across various fronts to meet or exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a full-time presence on the construction site, readily available to employees and subcontractors during work hours.
  • Ensure that daily project documentation is completed and disseminated as necessary.
  • Develop and manage Project Schedules using MS Project, reviewing them with the Project Manager or Vice President of Operations, and making updates as required for optimal scheduling.
  • Enforce adherence to the company's Safety Policy by all individuals on site, including visitors such as design professionals and clients.
  • Proactively coordinate all tasks and team members to facilitate seamless execution and minimize rework.
  • Monitor daily project progress, adjusting activities as necessary to prevent delays, and provide regular updates to supervisors regarding schedule and subcontractor performance.
  • Ensure full attendance and conduct progress meetings with subcontractors on-site, distributing notes to all team members.
  • Oversee all project purchases, preparing Purchase Orders for review and approval as delegated.
  • Proactively resolve conflicts that arise to avoid delays, maintain quality, and control costs.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including specifications, selections, milestone dates, and Hickory standard practices, distributing them to key stakeholders as needed.
  • Coordinate equipment requirements for the project, tracking and reporting budget impacts to relevant parties.
  • Prepare the project deliverables schedule and gather samples as necessary to expedite project flow, regularly updating Design Teams.
  • Act as the primary contact for the owner on projects, conducting Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings as needed and keeping accurate records of all site interactions.
  • Regularly update the Project Budget Review and ensure distribution to all relevant parties.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A valid Driver's License.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is strongly recommended.
  • A minimum of 6 months experience in a Project Superintendent 2 or equivalent role.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, MS Office, MS Project, and web-based applications.
  • Procore Project Manager Certifications.
  • Experience in high-pressure environments and managing projects with tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision to fulfill project scope.
  • Strong leadership capabilities for managing teams of 2-100 individuals, including company employees and subcontractors.
  • OSHA 30 and CPR certification within 12 months of acquiring the position.
