Regional Admissions Recruiter

Job Summary:

The Regional Admissions Recruiter will work under limited supervision to plan, develop, and facilitate student recruitment programs and events for prospective students in the Atlanta Metropolitan area. This role will establish relationships with high schools, community agencies, and business entities to promote Savannah State University's academic programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students in the Atlanta Metropolitan area.
  • Coordinate high school and community college visits, attend college fairs, and other recruitment events.
  • Collaborate with area SSU alumni chapters to create a recruitment strategy.
  • Provide admissions counseling to prospective students and assist with the application process.
  • Develop a comprehensive recruitment strategy for the Atlanta Metropolitan area and other assigned areas.
  • Implement recruitment plans and oversee check-ins with Admissions Recruiters to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Provide accurate and timely information about academic and co-curricular program offerings, services, costs, and financial aid to prospective students and their families.
  • Foster relationships with prospective students, their families, and high school/community college personnel from initial contact to enrollment.
  • Collect data and conduct research to evaluate strategic outcomes, create reports, and provide timely feedback on recruitment activities.
  • Record prospect-related actions in the customer relations management system to assist the Admissions department in follow-up with prospects and families.
  • Remain abreast of current policies and procedures in Enrollment Management as they relate to university admissions.
  • Travel to Savannah for admissions and recruiting events, such as Open Campus Day and New Student Orientation.
  • Assist in developing and evaluating Admissions and Recruitment marketing and advertising publications.
  • Assist with the evaluation of transcripts of prospective students.
  • Rend admissions decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as marketing, business administration, or mass communications.
  • Must be a resident of the Atlanta Metropolitan area.
  • Must possess a current, valid driver's license and personal vehicle for travel.
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in admissions recruiting in an educational environment.
  • Proficient with computer applications, programs, social media, and customer relations management systems.
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor with respect to clothing, personal hygiene, and appearance.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 15 pounds.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of social media and other technology for recruiting purposes.
  • Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position.
  • Skilled in the use of small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
  • Skilled in effective verbal and written communication and presenting to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies.
  • Ability to learn department policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and an orientation towards customer service.
  • Ability to maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Ability to cooperate with fellow employees as a team member.
