Job Summary

The Department of Housing & Community Development is seeking a highly skilled Program Specialist to join our team. As a Program Specialist, you will be responsible for administering and implementing federally-funded Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with local grantee programs and projects related to infrastructure, economic development, planning, and/or social services.
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures detailing the use and requirements of federal funding programs.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to local grantees and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as public administration, urban planning, or social work.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in program administration, management, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, organizational, and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with federal funding programs and regulations.
  • Knowledge of community development principles and practices.
