Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Packaging Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing orders for shipment by packing products according to customer specifications and company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and pack products according to packing lists and instructions from the Lead Packer.
  • Apply labels and clips, and insert products into tubes and pouches.
  • Certify and measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
  • Assemble and tape boxes, and label packages.
  • Examine and inspect packaging materials and products, and notify the Lead Packer of any quality issues.
  • Identify defective products or materials, document defects, and move defective parts to the specified area in the warehouse.
  • Record product weights and demonstrate ability to consistently assemble and pack products to quality standards.
  • Work independently or as part of a team, and perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalency preferred.
  • Knowledge of packaging procedures and ability to identify packing materials and products by description and scale measurements.
  • Use of scale and adding machine to record and total weights.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting objects of 40 pounds required throughout the shift.
  • Repeatedly loading boxes and lifting safely into shipping boxes.
  • Standing and sitting for long periods of time.
  • Use of small and large motor skills throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to understand and follow appropriate safety procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Attention to detail, concentration, high degree of accuracy, reliable attendance, timeliness, alertness, and use of judgment.

Working Conditions:

This is a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and productivity. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality.
