Food Operations Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Food Operations Manager to join our Prepared Foods Department at Whole Foods Market 365. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving business growth.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Prepared Foods Team Members to ensure efficient operations and exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with the Prepared Foods Trainer to develop and implement training programs that build a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
- Assist in training new Team Members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials to ensure a seamless onboarding process.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated display area, adhering to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Open and close the department according to established procedures, ensuring a smooth transition between shifts.
- Ensure all necessary breaks are given to Team Members, promoting a healthy and productive work environment.
- Communicate team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader, fostering open communication and resolving issues promptly.
- Sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution, maintaining awareness of customer flows and needs.
- Fosters a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale, motivating Team Members to excel.
- Selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
- Provides timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations, recognizing individual contributions and areas for growth.
- Consistently communicates and models WFM vision and goals, inspiring Team Members to achieve excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 12+ months of retail experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire Team Members.
- Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods, with flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
