Position Summary:

The Senior Member Relations Consultant plays a vital role within our Member Advocacy team, delivering exceptional service to our members through virtual interactions. This position involves training fellow Member Advocacy staff and engaging with both current and prospective members to assess their financial requirements. Utilizing a consultative approach, the consultant will leverage their knowledge of products and services, along with necessary sales tools, to provide tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and develop member advisors, assist with scheduling, and evaluate their performance as necessary.
  • Enhance member relationships through both in-person and digital communication, while proactively reaching out to promote credit union products and services that align with their needs.
  • Handle teller transactions, establish new membership accounts, process consumer loan applications, and support overall branch operations.
  • Provide backup support to our financial centers as required.
  • Deliver outstanding member experiences that exceed expectations, ensuring members are acknowledged and transactions are executed with precision and professionalism.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of all retail products and services, as well as a sufficient grasp of Financial Center offerings to facilitate effective referrals.
  • Oversee Financial Center operations to guarantee adherence to security protocols and address any unsatisfactory conditions promptly.
  • Review documentation prepared by Financial Center staff to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, addressing any quality concerns under the guidance of the Financial Center Manager.
  • Establish meaningful relationships with members to comprehend their financial needs and propose appropriate solutions, detailing the benefits of various products and services.
  • Accurately execute financial transactions, including deposits, payments, and account maintenance.
  • Open and manage various account types, including share, checking, money market, certificates of deposit, IRAs, HSAs, and business accounts.
  • Process consumer loan applications in accordance with credit union and regulatory standards.
  • Provide members with general account information regarding balances and transaction history.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer and report any suspicious activity to a supervisor or security personnel.
  • Support colleagues as needed and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Six months of cash handling experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in 10-key by touch is necessary.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and computers efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and telephone etiquette skills are essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Familiarity with PC applications, including word processing and spreadsheets, is necessary.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities are essential.
