Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in helping our organization transform into a truly modern cloud-native mode of operation.

You will work closely with our Sr Manager of Platform Engineering, Platform Tech Lead, and Platform Architect to ensure sound technical direction. You will also work with our Technical Product Owner on our Agile Platform Engineering team to facilitate delivering the most critical platform features needed for our Product Development Teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Embody the Synechron culture and be a positive force for the team
  • Apply a proactive approach toward tasks and communication
  • Embrace and evangelize automation, infrastructure as code, policy as code, and developer enablement
  • Lead technical implementations leveraging the team architect
  • Be a foreperson on the team and a strong presence in collaboration with other teams and leadership
  • Drive forensic troubleshooting and analysis of automation and platform consistency issues
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of system, resource, and infrastructure availability and performance optimization
  • Evangelize cloud-native practices and methodologies to delivery teams
  • Provide subject matter expertise for all aspects of our technology stack
  • Infrastructure Automation Via Terraform
  • Azure DevOps Pipelines
  • Kubernetes / AKS / EKS
  • CI/CD Patterns
  • Participation in an on-call rotation
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cloud-Native Engineering, DevOps Engineering or Advocacy role
  • Expertise with containers and Kubernetes
  • Expertise with container security and Kubernetes security
  • Experience with opensource security tools
  • Experience remediating security vulnerabilities and responding to CVE reported issues
  • Experience debugging false positive security reporting
  • Experience working on an Agile team using Agile development methodologies
  • Experience staying on the forefront of security and advocating best practices to the team and their customers
  • Strong Scripting Experience
  • Experience in writing security tests and validations
  • Expertise in writing Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code techniques
  • Expertise in managing multiple code bases in Git, including trunk-based and environment-based branching
  • Expertise in creating Continuous Integration builds and deployment automation, for example, CI/CD Pipelines
  • Expertise in building and supporting Cloud Native applications in a major public cloud
  • Expertise in implementing observability, application monitoring, and log aggregation solutions
  • Expertise working with cross-functional teams to provide Next-Gen Cloud Native solutions

  • Experience with AKS, EKS
  • Expertise with dotnet, PowerShell, and PowerShell Desired State Configuration
  • Bachelor's degree in a computing-related field
